Happy birthday to my darling husband!

Before we wed, my husband and his father attended Wimbledon in lieu of a bachelor party.  Recreated the magic for his birthday for the inaugural B cup.

Some fun facts about Wimbledon- each year 200, 000 glasses of Pimm’s are served

Also players at Wimbledon must dress predominantly in white.  The referee determines on the day whether players meet dress requirements.

Nephew W was very cute and organised a formal awards presentation.  He awarded himself the best junior player, his 6 year old brother, ‘best and fairest’, and his 5 year old brother a ‘just because’ award. But my sister in law was the overall winner!  She was also the only one who was dressed predominantly in white.tennis tournament w

It has become a family tradition to make Angel Food cake for birthday celebrations. I was saved by the blog this year- despite misplacing the recipe book, I remembered I had photographed the recipe last year when I made the cake.

Thank you everyone for your kind words for my last post.  Am definitely inspired to do some hands on charity work.
Here’s my haul from the final days of the pop up shop.

Happy birthday for your husband! I love Pimms. I had never tried it until Summer last year. What a treat! I would love to do hands on charity work too, if only I could get the kids off my hands and have some bloody spare time sometimes. Boo. xxx

Love Pimms. And the tennis. Have never made or eaten an Angel Food Cake, but will add that to my ‘to do’ list. The Paleo Cafe concept intrigues me. Think I need to get along to the cafe and check it out for myself.

I’ve evolved thank you very much – no paleo here.

Happy birthday to Mr HINH! Believe it or not – i do like tennis but I have no compunction whatsoever to go. I have even turned down tickets because I can’t bear all that rain go home then come back the next day and the forced pimms drinking and the sour strawberries. I know I sound like a right grump but I can be fun sometimes!! Just no wimbledon and now I am making a point of never going. ;P I am glad to hear that you have thought about the incident and turned it into something so positive. I know it’s tough – I had a similar thing happen this past March and it still kind of haunts me…PS I love a tennis court in the back yard. Not even the queen has one in her backyard at the palace you lucky duck!

My Aunty Barbara introduced us to the wonderful world of Pimms when we were just teenagers, playing tennis on their grass lawn in rural NZ. This was also my first introduction to a bidet, at the age of just 5 I was rather perplexed! Happy birthday to your lovely hubby!

  5. We go to the Australian Open quite often (on the corporate junket), but I’ve never been to Wimbledon. Did you manage to make up the Pimm’s quota?
Happy birthday to your husband – you did a stellar job in recreating the magic. xx

    Happy birthday to your husband!
I must say I would be very pleased with a birthday that consisted of Pimms and angel food cake!

I am sad that your shop has closed and that a Paleo cafe has taken its place…I know I shouldn’t judge before I have tried it but I don’t know if I really want to live lean!
